This report analyses the medical support structures that are in place for UN Peacekeeping operations and the updating they require. As part of their analysis, the report’s authors focus on 1) UN Headquarters’ medical planning and coordination functions; 2) the standards of care and collaboration levels that exist in the field; and 3) other training, resources and capabilities issues. Last, the authors provide five policy recommendations bases on their analysis.
