This commentary argues that the universal ideologies of the Cold War have yielded to fragmented emotionalism and subjectivity. Well that’s not going to cut it, argues the text’s author. If we hope to invigorate today’s debates, we need to create a new ideology that’s both inclusive and progressive. While accomplishing this task, we might also want to consult the writings of Nietzsche, Camus, the Roman Stoics and others.
