This paper draws on open-source Chinese-language documents to examine China’s strategy for developing and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technology for military applications. The text’s author also 1) reflects on what this strategy could mean for the future of US-China strategic competition; and 2) provides three recommendations for Washington on how to maintain US military and strategic competitiveness in AI.
