CSS Brown Bag Webinar: Strategic Trends: War Peril between China and USA?
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the rhetoric between the US and China as rivals is intensifying. Part of this rivalry is the military dimension, which was discussed at the CSS Brown Bag Webinar on 30 April 2020. Michael Haas, senior researcher, and Niklas Masuhr, researcher, in the Global Security Team at CSS, explained the context, forms and consequences of the competition. The focus was on the military strategic ideas of both opponents on how to stage a possible conflict. While such a military conflict might be evitable, the dangers posed by this conflict can no longer be ignored in Europe.
