This paper analyzes the structural impact and persistent foreign debt crisis in Argentina, beginning in the 1980s. The author focuses on attempts to deal with the crisis, showing that how efforts drew the country into debt bondage while restricting the capacity to improve social conditions. He explores the causes. effects and reforms taken to address the crisis, including the US proposed Brady Plan and the New Financial System. The paper reviews the impact on trade and the exchange rate, discussing the evolution of the debt crisis and highlighting how Argentina's dependence on foreign financial agents modified societal structures and forces.
