This paper presents data on how citizen of Uganda perceive democracy. It finds that a significant gap exists between the expectations of democracy in the country and its delivery in practice. The data suggests that much of the discontent stems from resentment over high commodity prices, dissatisfaction with the management of the economy and unease over the growing gap between rich and poor.
