This paper explores the situation of ethnic minority women in Georgia, focusing on the effects of domestic-based violence on their limited economic empowerment and political participation. The author particularly concentrates on the plight of Azeri and Armenian women who make up two of Georgia's biggest minority groups. She then talks about the situation of women belonging to other, smaller, minority groups including the Ossetians, Kists, Yezidi Kurds, and Roma. Overall, she argues that women across different ethnic minorities face similar difficulties, and that the political and social isolation of these minorities contributes to the low status of women living within them.
