This brief examines the impact the New Development Bank (NDB), established by the BRICS countries in mid-2014, could have on financing the post-2015 development agenda and UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The author contends that the NDB will provide valuable resources to help fill the massive gap in investment in infrastructure and sustainable development resources in emerging and developing economies, which has been estimated to reach at least US$ 1 trillion annually. She also explains that the NDB will give emerging and developing countries a greater voice in the development finance architecture.
