This paper describes the increased importance of electronic communication as an agent for social changed and increased corporate responsibility. The author describes how the strategic manipulation of information and communication technologies (ICT) to disseminate information across the networked planet has increasingly become a fact of life for many larger NGOs. The paper looks at the history of NGO globalization over the internet and explores the experiences of key international social and environmental organizations with internet communications.
