This paper offers an examination of international justice from the perspective of rape survivors from the Rwandan genocide. The author argues that opportunities have been squandered at sexual violence prosecutions at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. The paper thus finds that concerted efforts must be made to learn from the experiences of the Rwandan rape victims to ensure that the UN does not continue to shortchange rape victims.
