This paper assesses the Czech government's attempts to coordinate the decision-making process in the field of economic policy. The author focuses on six areas: the economic transformation in the Czech Republic, the role of the independent Czech National Bank (CNB) and international financial institutions, the nature of the political system and parliamentary participation in economic policymaking. Furthermore, he examines participatory aspects of governance, the role of interest groups and the emergence of a social dialogue.
