This paper examines the relationship between natural gas extraction, state restructuring and political mobilization among indigenous peoples in Bolivia. The author focuses on the impact of natural gas operations of the Spanish firm Repsol YPF on the Guaraní community of Cumandaroti, located in the southern department of Tarija. He also describes the political landscape of Bolivia as a whole and its impact on indigenous peoples in the country.
