This paper looks at how to strengthen Australia-Japan cooperation, bolstering the globalization dimension that has brought the two countries closer together but also poses new challenges for both. It focuses on three areas of international policy, particularly well suited to closer Australia-Japan cooperation: climate change and energy security; nuclear non-proliferation; and official development assistance.
