This briefing paper presents the results of a 2005 survey conducted in Kenya on perceptions of economic conditions in the country. It compares opinions on national and personal economic conditions and disaggregates these results into urban-rural and by province. It then discusses the key economic concerns of the respondents and their view of the government's response. The paper concludes that there are growing signs of disillusionment, with Kenyans' optimism in the government having eroded significantly.
