This report examines the issue of obsolete pesticides (OPs) in Europe, which endangers human and animal life and risks undermining trade between EU and non-EU countries. The authors analyze the scale of the problem and progress of OPs clean-up. They review international agreements addressing this issue, including the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. The report calls upon the European Commission to lead and develop an action plan in partnership with all relevant actors.
