This book explores US military transformation in the 21st century. It focuses on the adaptation of technologies, operational concepts and organizational structures to conduct war in new ways. The book explores the foundations of today’s military transformation and assesses the progress that is being made in this effort by each of America’s military services. It analyzes the coordination and integration of separate service efforts. The book concludes with a review of broader aspects of military transformation since the 11 September 2001 terrorist attacks. The authors argue to collectively addresses homeland defense, space, cyberspace and reforms in weapons procurement and logistics.
