This paper describes the nature of the Filipino adolescent lifestyle in terms of mass media consumption, engagement in social behaviors and risk behaviors. It further describes the familial context of the adolescent as a possible determinant of adolescent lifestyle. It determines the correlates of distal, proximal and risk behavior of the adolescents particularly focusing on the role of family structure, family control variables and parent-adolescent interaction process and identifies the precursor variables to adolescent risk behavior.
