This paper focuses on the labor market effects of economic liberalization in Indonesia starting in the mid 1980s. It discusses the data used in this study and describes trade and investment liberalization that have taken place in Indonesia. Further it elaborates on labor market institutions in the country and describes the structure of Indonesian labor market. Finally, it analyzes the changes that have taken place in the Indonesian labor market since the trade and investment liberalization.
