This publication discusses US policy toward Iraq and presents two alternative policy options that would reduce US commitment in the country. It outlines the political situation and what US policy is at the time of writing. The authors highlight adjustments to this policy and present two alternative strategies: reduced, conditional commitment and unconditional, near-total reduction of military commitment. The publication concludes with a set of 14 questions that US Congress should ask General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker so as to clarify US policy options in Iraq.
