This paper presents the "structuralist-evolutionary" model of economic growth and technological change. It provides some background on technology and technological change, introduces the structuralist-evolutionary model and contrasts it with the neoclassical model of economic growth. Subsequently, it outlines the concept of general purpose technology, examines the impact of the internet and asks what total factor productivity is actually measuring. The authors conclude with a list of policy suggestions taking account of endogenous technology change.
