This symposium report features a comprehensive review of Chinese relations with the Soviet Union's Warsaw Pact allies from the early 1960s to the late 1980s. The report provides a chronological review and discussion of all significant events and features analysis and interpretation from the perspective of veteran diplomats and former party officials. Among the main themes addressed are Chinese-Eastern European relations during the Vietnam War, Chinese-Eastern European relations after the Soviet intervention in Czechoslovakia in 1968, as well as the impact of Chinese-American Detente on Chinese-Eastern European relations in the 1970s.
