This report assesses the strategic consequences of globalization and its implications for US national security and defense policy. The authors first define globalization and examine the links between globalization and security. They then discuss the key features of globalization and note the geopolitical implications of the uneven regional impact of globalization, suggesting the existence of a bifurcated world order. Finally, the report discusses the impact of globalization on US security and defense policy alongside efforts to improve coordination, integration and organization among various US government departments and entities.
