This study analyzes the sources of economic growth in Ukraine beginning in 1998. It provides an overview of the macroeconomic situation, analyzing the GDP, monetary and exchange rate policies, as well as trends in the labor market. The authors look at the role of the external sector and at exports and imports, particularly in the energy sector. They explore microeconomic prerequisites for economic growth, focusing on whether agriculture registered a real growth after 1998. The report concludes with a discussion of agricultural and other contributions to Ukraine's economic growth.
