This paper details a study of firm-level competitiveness in Poland. It provides an overview of the four industries of food and beverage, pharmaceutical, auto, electronics and the role foreign direct investment (FDI) can play. The authors use case studies to analyze productivity and competitiveness among firms in these industries. They focus on how cooperation with external actors such as investors, creditors, customers, suppliers and local governments affects changes in Polish firms' competitiveness.
