This paper discusses factors determining the impact of labor tax on employment among countries integrating with the EU. The authors provide a literature review and discuss cross-country evidence, focusing on microeconomic research from Poland. They highlight the importance of job search incentives in Poland and confirm the negative impact of labor taxes and low skills on employment.
