This report analyzes free trade agreements (FTAs) signed by Bosnia and Herzegovina with its regional partners. It argues that while regional FTAs have had some positive impact on the country's economy, the potential of such arrangements has not yet fully materialized. The authors provide recommendations on theoretical and practical aspects of FTAs, an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of existing FTAs in Europe, and a description of Bosnia and Herzegovina's FTAs in the context of its overall trade policy, institutions and trade flows. The authors give a quantitative analysis of the country's trade flows, including estimates of determinants of imports and exports.
