This paper examines the impact and significance of private military contractors (PMCs) to US grand strategy. The author argues that private contractors have been a part of the military equation for decades and are primarily used to fill the gap between geopolitical goals and public means. The author argues that the use of PMCs is inevitable and a part of war and maintaining the US military's global hegemonic presence.
