This publication discusses the future of the UN in Haiti, and the continuing need for peacekeeping forces. It is a summary of views expressed in a meeting held at the United States Institute of Peace. It outlines the (lack of) progress made by the UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) - specifically in social and economic development. The panelists also mention the significant institutional consolidation and greater operation independence of the Haitian National Police Force, but note much still needs to be done.
