One concept that has previously been used to try to encompass the various connections between international economics, geopolitics and security is the idea of geoeconomics. The author's argument is that if one wants to try to understand many of the most important strategic developments facing the world over the next couple of decades, then one is going to need to devote a reasonable amount of time to thinking about what is going on in the international economy.
