There are now some significant downside risks to many of the drivers of the rise in Transnational Corporations (TNCs) over the past couple decades. To that extent, the future external environment for TNCs may well turn out to be tougher in some key regards in the years ahead compared to the environment that has prevailed for the past couple of decades.
