In this essay, the author discusses the meaning of justice concerns in international diplomacy. He discusses the meaning of justice in human affairs before reviewing the most important empirical work on this issue in international relations. He then applies securitization theory to the concept of justice, speculating about the consequences of this development. The paper concludes with a typology of understandings of justice and a discussion of the problem of intercultural disputes.
