Publication

This FIIA report, published in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Committee of Finland's parliament, consists of three papers based on presentations given at the FIIA's seminar on the transformation of Chinese society and foreign policy. The first paper provides an assessment of the insecurities that have arisen as a result of the economic reforms of the past 25 years; the second paper evaluates Chinese perceptions of rapid societal transformation and its implications based on various opinion polls; and the final paper discusses changes in China's foreign policy during the reform era, especially toward the rest of Asia.
