The year 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). To mark the occasion, this paper reflects on what can be done to improve the access of children - especially those most excluded and vulnerable - to justice. It also looks at some promising initiatives supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF): the Paralegal Committees in Nepal, the Village Courts Child Protection Program in Papua New Guinea and Socio-legal Defense Centers in the occupied Palestinian territory.
