The author of this book reviews the role of logistics and economics of warfare in past military operations. He argues that the preparations in peacetime is pivotal to accelerate defense industrial production in the event of war. While strategy and tactics constitute the conduct of war, logistics provides the means, since winning the war necessitates the moving, supplying and maintaining military forces.
