The essays of this book provide an understanding of long-range planning, i.e. 10 to 25 years. They examine existing methodologies, concepts and programs, and suggest ways to think creatively and pragmatically about national strategy, defense and security in the future. One of their most important goals is to help institutionalize a long-range planning process in governmental organizations.
