This volume is a collection of unpublished lectures and other writings of George F. Kennan. Kennan discusses many post-war security issues, such as Soviet Diplomacy, US foreign policy and initiatives like the Marshall Plan, the UN or the NATO. As Kennan held no small role in shaping post-WWII developments, the provided documents provide an important source to understand the thinking on national security at this time. This is especially valuable as the post-Cold War world is in certain ways reminiscent of this period and can offer instructive lessons for the future.
