This policy brief argues that the AU does not manage to meaningfully link the African human rights and security architectures. The authors provide recommendations to partners and donors as well as the various AU organs and institutions as to how this could be amended. Fine-tuned support for better coordination and communication between the AU Commission, the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights and the African Court could bolster the AU’s ability to respond meaningfully and effectively to conflict situations.
