This report features a roadmap to promote North American security and advance the well-being of Mexican, US, and Canadian citizens. Developed by a trinational, CFR-sponsored task force, the report aims to respond to the growing threats North America faces: terrorist and criminal security threats, increased economic competition from abroad, and uneven economic development at home. The task force members applaud the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" announced at the 2005 trilateral summit in Texas, but propose a more ambitious vision of a new community by 2010, and offer specific recommendations on how to achieve it.
