This paper maps some of the different ways in which public finance from the United Kingdom is mobilizing private investment in climate compatible development. It highlights some considerations that need to be addressed if developed countries intend to report private finance as part of their overall climate finance commitments over time. The paper concludes with some lessons learned from the early mobilization of climate finance support in the UK.
