This paper concentrates on the Eurozone crisis and addresses the costs of a possible Eurozone breakup. The author argues that a breakup would be astronomical and would also affect Germany and other payer states. A continuation is only conceivable with increased economic convergence and some form of fiscal union for which considerable political resistance exists.
