This submission focuses on the integration of the international human rights law and the importance of an enabling legal environment in protecting and promoting health in developing countries post-2015. 2015 marks the target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The submission assesses the progress that has been made in global health and highlights ongoing and emerging challenges in this area. In order to combat both communicable and non-communicable diseases, it argues that transparent legal frameworks together with coherent policy responses are needed at both the domestic and international levels.
