This publication focuses on the pragmatists who are taking part in the United Kingdom's recent nuclear debate. They include senior policy-makers, both active and retired, who believe that the UK needs to sustain its current nuclear weapons policy, at least for the foreseeable future. At a minimum, this means replacing the current Trident system with an equally capable one and maintaining the policy of ‘continuous-at-sea deterrence’.
