This report summarizes the discussions that took place at a workshop aimed at developing a conceptual framework for the analysis of the role of the media in promoting intercultural dialogue (ID) and social cohesion. Following an introduction, the discussion is broadly divided into four parts: 1) the significance and purposes of intercultural dialogue; 2) new technology and intercultural dialogue; 3) state responsibility; and 4) media and dialogue in divided societies.
