This brief talks about Japan's main platform for Africa's development, the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) process. It discusses the evolution of the TICAD process and the challenges that are faced by the TICAD V summit in June 2013. It also offers some recommendations for Japan to improve the process.
