This paper discusses lessons from an 'adapted systematic review' on the links between approaches to child protection and income poverty. The authors address three challenges associated to the use of the systematic review framework for this issue; managing disciplinary diversity and evidence gaps, handling different types of data and the overly stringent application of guidelines, and the need for a suitable method of synthesizing evidence. The paper also includes an assessment of the broader implications for different actors in the international development community.
