This brief looks at the relations between China and Nepal and then considers the relations of each with India and the US. It argues that Nepal occupies a unique geostrategic position and plays an important role in China’s South Asia Policy as it enables China to safeguard its interests in Tibet and to counter India's influence in Nepal. At the same time, India has also increased its position in its relations with both countries.
