This policy brief talks about communal discord in the Indian districts of Kargil and Leh where inhabitants follow Buddhism and Islam. Specifically, the brief looks at issues around communalism in the two districts after the early 70s and the implications of communal violence on the socio-cultural relations of Kargil and Leh people.
