This paper talks about the adoption of the EU's Treaty on Stability, Coordination and Governance within the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). The authors examine the possible future of competences for macroeconomic policy-making within the EU. They conclude that the treaty does not seem to offer a definitive solution to the problem of finding the appropriate budgetary-monetary policy mix in the EMU.
