This practice note looks at the benefits of integrating gender issues into both Security Sector Reform (SSR) assessment, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and provides practical information on how to do this. It argues that gender-responsive SSR assessment and M&E provide more accurate information for reform processes and strengthen the prevention of and response to gender-based violence, such as domestic violence, human trafficking and gang violence.
