This practice note looks at the benefits of gender training for security sector personnel and provides practical information on how to do this. It argues that gender training promotes a non-discriminatory workplace and makes personnel more receptive to the recruitment, retention and promotion of women, as well as to men from minority groups. It further argues that gender training discourages security sector personnel from committing human rights violations.
